Marco Pereira is a man of many hats — physics professor, financial professor, molecular biophysics professor, chemistry professor, and (probably) honorary professor of Intergalactic Linguistics. At least, that’s what he claims on his Quora profile, where he dazzles the unsuspecting with an impressive list of credentials. However, like a magician’s act, a closer look reveals that the magic might just be smoke and mirrors.
Oh, and did I mention? Marco loves asking questions about himself in the third person on Quora. Truly, a hallmark of modesty.
As if Marco’s antics weren’t enough, let me share with you one of his more “memorable” comments. In a reply, Marco not only criticized me personally but also decided to insult the entire Black Community at Xavier University where I am actually very proud to teach, as we have very high standards and our students are excellent.
Here is a screenshot of his reply:
Now, Marco, let’s unpack this. Insulting me is one thing — I’m a grown man, I can take it. But dragging an entire group of people into your baseless rant? That’s low, even for you. And “backwoods”? Really? Next time, Marco, try using arguments instead of... whatever that was.
When asked for proof of his scientific brilliance, Marco provided links to eight groundbreaking works. But wait — five of those links led to the same paper (probably written by his supervisor), suggesting that perhaps his publishing philosophy revolves around the principle of “Why settle for one paper when you can link it five times?” The other three? Unpublished PDFs with all the credibility of a grocery list written in Comic Sans. The pièce de résistance? His most-referenced “paper” is a theoretical trainwreck with citations to his own Quora answers. A peer-reviewer’s nightmare, indeed.
In an act of self-proclaimed scientific bravery, Marco took to ResearchGate, issuing a challenge for a public scientific discussion. But his method of debate resembled more of a medieval drawbridge than an open forum. Your comments, Moses, vanished into the void — a void personally curated by Marco, who admitted to deleting them. He even went the extra mile and blocked you, ensuring your voice couldn’t echo in his echo chamber. You can see his challenge here, and see my replies (if he hasn't deleted them yet). Here is a screenshot of my replies, you know, just in case:
One might wonder:
Marco’s approach to physics, like his challenge rules, is unorthodox. As an anti-relativist, he’s convinced that Einstein is wrong — because, obviously, who needs experimental evidence when you can conjure buzzwords? He insists that relativity is a conspiracy designed to confuse lesser mortals. His alternative theories include concepts like quantum financial gravitation and second-order thermodynamic stock trading.
Marco Pereira isn’t just a pseudo-scientist — he’s a pseudo-renaissance man, blending academic overreach with social media gatekeeping. His credentials, much like his arguments, seem to be rooted in a dimension where logic and evidence take a backseat to self-aggrandizement.
The only law of physics Marco truly respects? The Law of Selective Engagement — where he invites criticism only to block it.
